Young, Dumb, & Hungry
For my final project at Iowa State, I created a cookbook with my roommate and prodigal chef, Katelyn Seese.
I chose this striking and vivid design to draw in the younger crowd. Most cookbooks we see on the market feature muted and subtle colors. The square grids and angular imagery are built to reflect the building blocks that we are giving the audience. The square theme comes into play throughout the entirety of the project.
My final deliverables included the cookbook, social media, expo booth, brand guidelines, and various products. For this project, I created a custom font, was the sole art director and photographer, and worked efficiently with my co-creator. I chose to create this project to show my specific skills regarding editorial design as well as my willingness to learn new skills. This is the first time I have been tempted to use only my own photography.
Overall, I am incredibly proud of what we created.
